Creative Work

“Everyone is creative. Infinitely creative. It is about courage and the longing to express yourself, and to rest in the trust that creates the world.” Petra Kvist

We don’t need to learn how to be creative. But we may need some help finding the courage.

You don’t need any previous experience to take part in these courses. All you need is a longing to express yourself. We create the courage together.

Through playful and explorative exercises, you are invited to explore your expression step by step.

Expressing something that comes from within can be liberating, joyful, and healing. When we share our expressions with one another, with presence and without judgement, we can also begin to hear our own story.

Where and how?

This work is for anyone who wants to explore their creativity, expression, and personal story through different forms of artistic expression.

I offer retreats, courses, and workshops in Creative Work. I am also happy to bring the work to your school, workplace, organisation, or company and adapt it to the needs and context of the group.

The exercises are adapted to the group and to the different needs and abilities of the participants.

Forms of Art

Drama exercises

Drama exercises help you develop presence, imagination, concentration and your emotional world.

Theatre improvisation

In the improvisation exercises, you learn to be more spontaneous, respond to what is happening and be more open to the unexpected. You get to explore your interaction with others and practise trusting your impulses and the situation as it unfolds.

Monologues, Dialogues, Songs and Lyrics

We work with different texts and songs, both by others and our own. Your own written material is warmly welcomed. What matters is that the words carry something that is meaningful to you. You can choose your own material or get help finding texts and songs that support what you want to explore and express.

Body Awareness

Through different exercises, we explore the language of the body and become more aware of what the body is telling us in different situations. When body and expression work together, our communication can become more authentic and moving.

Writing and Storytelling

Through writing exercises, both individually and in groups, we explore the power of storytelling. We practise telling stories both in writing and through the spoken word. Some stories are true, others are fictional. What matters is not whether the story actually happened, but what it has to tell us and what it can awaken within us.

Interpretation

In interpretation, we explore how to bring a song or text to life based on who you are and what you want to communicate. We explore emotions, body awareness and the message. How can you communicate what you want to say in a way that makes your expression moving and authentic?

Creativity, Courage and Expression

You may long to write, sing, tell stories or act. Or perhaps you simply want to explore your expression and creativity.

It is not about performing or being good at something. It is about expressing something that is authentically yours.

When you express yourself through art or experience the expression of others, you may discover new things within yourself.

Sometimes playfulness arises and sometimes things become deeply serious. When we are immersed in a creative process, we often experience flow – a place where time and space seem to disappear and where we connect with our source and our creativity.

Expressing something that comes from within can feel both vulnerable and sometimes difficult. We work to create a safe and open atmosphere in the group. If you have the longing to express yourself we create the courage together.

We work both individually and in groups.

"Your Story – Your Expression was one of the most important and rewarding courses I have ever taken. I had never before experienced that it was possible to go so deeply into improvisation, acting, singing, free dance and writing. All emotions were welcome, and expression was set free. We cried and had so incredibly much fun.” Tania

When Art Becomes a Path

I have been teaching the art of performance for over 20 years. Time and again, I have seen how much we can grow through working with different art forms.

Through the creative process, we learn not only about art, but also about ourselves. Laughter has rolled across the floor, and at times there have been tears of empathy, sorrow and anger.

We create and express ourselves from where we are and from the experiences we carry with us.

Together, we explore the emotions and energies that help bring a story to life and make it authentic. I help you bring forward both your strength and your vulnerability, and the courage to let them take their place.

”“I have connected with parts of myself that had been dormant for many years. I feel revitalised and connected with my creativity in a completely different way now. I have become more confident in showing myself – by reading my stories aloud, singing in front of an audience and trusting my creative expression in different forms.” Pia Pia
